Compulsive Collector

I’m rekindling my interest in fountain pens. I got my first Waterman when I was 12 and now I’m starting with Montblanc. They make really good writing instruments but I wish the impostor market didn’t follow them.

Below, from left to right, I have 2 Lamy Safaris, S.T. Dupont Laquer Olympio, Montblanc LeGrand Meisterstuck, Montblanc Meisterstuck Solitaire and a Montblanc Meisterstuck 144.

They are simply gorgeous. And in our field of activity, where we put everything into Notepad files or Excel spreadsheets, it’s really good to feel one of these pens in your hands.

Hi Nutella – thanks, I’ll post more pics soon. The first batch of pens are okay and my favorite is the 3rd from the left.

Hey Debola – It’s actually gold. However, you maybe suffering from yellow fever since we don’t hang out often.

Hi Paul – thanks. There’s no turning back to ball points after writing with these.

You are right, you do need to look out for fakes, but there is nothing like a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck.

    Good luck with your collection.

My Meisterstuck Solitaire (LeGrand) is my favorite pen. I was shopping to reward myself, and discovered I could have it for 1/4 retail. I was in a major international city and it wasn’t hard to negotiate. Yes it’s real, yes it’s via an authorized dealer… one of the most respected. I’m not so impressed with the cachet of Montblanc anymore, but still love the pen.
